The "Centre for Advanced Computational Technologies" (CACT) is one of the nodes of the
SPACI (Southern Partnership for Advanced Computing Infrastructures) grid deployed in
Southern Italy.
The Center for Advanced Computational Technologies is an advanced technological facility for the NNL (National Nanotechnology Laboratory) and University of Lecce, providing scientific and technological competences on parallel, distributed and grid computing.
The Center fosters the application of high-end computing in several scientific contexts
(Engineering, Nanosciences, Theoretical and Experimental Physics, Applied Mathematics,
Computational Chemistry, Biosciences, Geosciences, Cultural Heritage) and industrial areas,
such as those concerned with cars, energy, space, chemistry, as well as the environment,
the financial and economic field and the area of telecommunication and multimedia services.
The CACT has been conceived to:
